Welcome to the Thessaloniki St. Andrew's Society!
If you are interested in Scottish traditions and culture then please join the group, you don't need to be Scottish to be a member; we welcome everyone who has a passion for Scotland. Our aim is to organise events in Thessaloniki to promote and celebrate Scottish culture, with proceeds from each event being donated to charity.
Burns Charity Ball 2012
_The St. Andrew's Society Thessaloniki would like to announce that the annual Burns'
Charity Ball (Traditional Scottish Event) will be held on Saturday, 18 February 2012, at 8pm, in the Porto Palace Hotel, Thessaloniki.
The evening's event will raise funds for 2 Thessaloniki-based charities: Association of Friends of Children with Cancer - Storgi (who help children that are suffering from cancer); and Προστασία Αδέσποτων Ζώων "Η Αγάπη" (http://www.love4pets.gr/), who find homes for stray animals.
Tickets include whisky, a 3-course meal (traditional Burns' supper, including ...haggis!), unlimited drinks, Scottish dancing and live Scottish Ceilidh music by Craigievar Ceilidh Band, stars of the film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. There will also be a prize lottery on the night with top prizes including a Trip to Italy, Air Tickets, Brunch for Two at a 5* hotel, as well as many more! A donation of 45 EUR is requested for the tickets and proceeds will be divided between both charities.
Tickets go on sale next week and since seat numbers are limited, please get your tickets as soon as possible! You can get the tickets at the dance classes (starting the week of 23 January 2012 and details to be provided in a later email), by emailing standrewsskg@yahoo.com, or by phoning 6949 071 322 (Louise).
Looking forward to celebrating Burns' Night with you!
